About this work
King Josiah sits on his throne surrounded by members of the court. Before him kneels the court scribe Shaphan, who reads to him from a large book held by two boys. Upon hearing the words of the law, the king tears his robe. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the biblical text in 2 Kings 22:10. This print is part of an album.
