About this work
When the child of the woman of Shunem goes to watch his father's reaping work in the field, he becomes ill. In the background on the left, the father orders a servant to take the child to his mother. In the foreground, the child dies in his mother's arms. In the background on the left, the child is laid on Elisha's bed. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 2 Kings 4:19.
