About this work
King Nebuchadnezzar has a golden statue erected and has ordered everyone to bow before it. At the sound of the trumpet, a crowd bows before the statue. A man tells the king, on the balcony to the left, that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to bow. The three men are taken captive in the middle of the background. Far to the right, a furnace is being stoked to burn anyone who does not bow. Below the image is a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Dan. 3:1. This print is part of an album.
