About this work
King Cyrus discusses with Daniel why he refuses to worship the god Bel. Daniel does not wish to worship an idol. He asks the priests of Bel to prove that Bel indeed eats the food placed before him every night. Two jesters play on the ground in front of the throne. To the right stand the priests; to the left stands Daniel, pointing toward the temple of Bel. In the cartouche to the left and below the image is an explanatory text in Latin. Print is part of an album.
