Christ, standing on the left, tells the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. On the right, the Publican kneels penitently in the temple, asking God for mercy. At the altar in the background, the Pharisee prays, thanking God that he is not like the Publican. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in Luke 18:10.
