About this work
In the temple, Christ sits on the left in the foreground, pointing to a veiled poor widow with two of his disciples. Richly dressed people approach the offering chest to throw in large sums of money. The widow has thrown in only two coins, but according to Christ this is more than what the rich give, because she gave out of her poverty. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Mark 12. This print is part of an album.
