About this work
On the way to Damascus, Saulus is struck by a beam of light from heaven. He is thrown from his horse by the beam and lies on the ground. Soldiers stand around him in panic. Then the blind Saulus is led by soldiers to Damascus, where he is healed of his blindness and takes the name Paul. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Acts 9:3.
