About this work
On the way to Damascus, Saul is struck by a beam of light from heaven. He is thrown from his horse by the beam and lies on the ground. Soldiers stand around him in panic. Then the blind Saul is led by soldiers to Damascus, where he is healed of his blindness and takes the name Paul. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the Bible text in Acts 9:3.
