About this work

The mother of Moses kneels by the reed basket in which she sets her son Moses adrift. Beside her stands Miriam, Moses' sister. On the left bank of the Nile stands the daughter of Pharaoh with her retinue. She will find Moses. In the background, Hebrew babies are thrown into the Nile from a bridge. Below the image a line of text in Latin, four four-line verses in Dutch, and a reference to the biblical text. This print is part of an album.
