About this work
The female personification of Faith (Fides), one of the three theological virtues, holding a chalice and a crucifix in her hands, tramples the snake (symbol of evil). On the left in the background the Last Supper, on the right Jews celebrating Passover. In the margin a two-line inscription in Latin. First print from a series of virtues.
