About this work
Landscape with the female personification of Temperance (Temperantia), one of the four cardinal virtues. In her hands she holds a jug with liquid which she pours into a basin. On the left in the background Noah's ark and God the Father appearing in the sky. On the right in the background the baptism in the Jordan. In the margin a two-line inscription in Latin. Seventh print from a series of virtues.
