About this work
The soldier Longinus has pity on Christ and pierces his side with his lance. The two criminals are taken down from their crosses. In the background, Mary is comforted by John and Mary Magdalene. The print bears a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ.
