About this work

Pedestal in the form of a cartouche. On it a medallion with on the front the portrait of Admiral Agostino Barbarigo. On the back his bust on a pedestal. The pedestal is flanked by two kneeling Turkish men with trophies, victory signs consisting of captured weapons. On the pedestal stands the personification of Ambition (Amor di Fama). It is a naked boy with a laurel wreath on his head to which the laurel berries still hang. In his right hand he has a ship's crown, in his left hand an army crown. On a pedestal a mural crown, a siege crown (of grass) and a civic crown (of oak leaves). The print is part of an album.
