About this work
Pedestal in the form of a cartouche. Upon it a medallion with on the front the portrait of Girolamo Barbarigo, orator during the time of Pope Pius II. On the back the pope on his throne. He receives a Venetian delegation. The pedestal is flanked by two female personifications. On the left sits Fame or Honor with an armillary sphere and a statuette of a woman with a laurel wreath and palm branch. On the right stands Abundance with an oak branch and a cornucopia filled with coins. The print is part of an album.
