About this work

King Ahasuerus and his official Haman are seated at a table with Esther. Esther accuses Haman of plotting to murder the Jewish people. In the background, Haman is seen kneeling by Queen Esther's bed, begging for his life. King Ahasuerus walks up the stairs to accuse Haman of assault. Through a door on the left, Haman is seen being hanged. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in Esther 7.
