About this work
Ahithophel and the Hushite Hushai advise Absalom on the war plan against King David. In the background Jonathan and Ahimaaz, who will bring the news of the plan to King David, hide in a pit in the courtyard of a man from Bahurim. His wife covers the opening of the pit with a lid, so that nothing can be seen. Below the image a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in 2 Samuel 17. This print is part of an album.
