About this work
Ahithophel and the Arkite Hushai advise Absalom on the war plan against King David. In the background, Jonathan and Ahimaaz, who will convey the news of the plan to King David, hide in a pit in the courtyard of a man from Bahurim. His wife covers the opening of the pit with a lid, so nothing can be seen. Under the image a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in 2 Sam. 17:1. This print is part of an album.
