About this work
While the Israelites listen to a preacher on the Sabbath, a man in the background gathers wood. Because he worked on the Sabbath, he was put to death. The print is part of a series on the Ten Commandments and depicts a violation of the third commandment: Remember the Sabbath day. A reference to the biblical text in Latin appears in the lower margin. The print is part of an album.
