About this work
Daniel stands with King Cyrus at the dragon of Babylon, which is worshipped by the Babylonian people. Daniel refuses to worship the dragon and asks the king for permission to kill the dragon without sword or staff. Daniel is ready to feed the dragon a cake of fat, tar, and bones. This will cause the dragon to be torn apart from within and die. Above the scene, a Latin reference to the biblical text in Daniel 14. Print is part of an album.
