About this work

History at a monument featuring the map of Etruria and a medallion with the portrait of Pythagoras. In the background Etruscan ruins. On the left in the foreground a Roman receives various art treasures from the virgin of Etruria. On the right in the foreground putti holding medallions with the portraits of two Etruscan war heroes: Pelopidas and Epaminondas. In the border of the cartouche a medallion with a Janus head.
