About this work
History at a monument showing the map of Etruria and a medallion with the portrait of Pythagoras. Etruscan ruins in the background. To the left in the foreground a Roman receiving various art treasures from the maiden of Etruria. To the right in the foreground putti holding medallions with the portraits of two Etruscan war heroes: Pelopidas and Epaminondas. In the frame of the cartouche a medallion with a Janus head.
