About this work

A man in a kimono with a geometric pattern and dragon motif, leaning forward next to a brazier with a pipe beside it. With the pile of fabric to his right, he folds small, short kimonos, so-called 'happi's'. In the background, a low room screen with an image of plum blossoms. The dragon motif on his kimono probably refers to the new year of the dragon, 1832. With two poems.
