About this work

The kabuki actor Seki Sanjuro II (1786–1839) in an unknown role, standing in a striped kimono by a low room screen with chrysanthemums depicted, while reaching for his sword. The chrysanthemums refer to the ninth month, possibly the month in which this play was performed. With one poem.
