Allegory on the distress and relief of Leiden, 1574. The city maid of Leiden is besieged by personifications of Hunger, Death, and Plague. On the right, a Spanish soldier with raised sword and burning torch. The hand of God holds the sword against and at the bottom Neptune holds the foot of the soldier against and lets the water flow in. Water is also poured from the sky. In the inscription 2 verses of 2 times six lines in Latin and in Dutch.
