Lovers, playing music at a table. The lady has a songbook before her, the man plays the lute. Behind them, Death in the guise of a thin figure playing the violin with a skull. On the windowsill, an hourglass. With caption in Latin and Dutch ('We often sit in joy / death is much closer than we know').
