About this work
In the foreground sits the personification of the Christian Faith (Fides) before an ancient ruin: in her right hand a crucifix, in her left a chalice. Before her sits Mohammed bowing over a book (the Koran). Allegory of the Christian faith and Islam. In the background various churches where people pray. The print has a Latin, French and Dutch inscription and is part of a series on the seven virtues.
