About this work

Illustration of the fourth article of faith ([Christ] who suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried) of the Apostles' Creed. Christ is taken down from the cross and Mary, John, Mary Magdalene, and others mourn him. In the background on the right Christ is laid in a tomb. Above the depiction a reference to the Bible text in Acts 13:29. Below the depiction two Bible texts and the fourth article of faith from the Apostles' Creed in Latin. This print is part of an album.
