Last Judgment

Illustration of the seventh article of faith (from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead) of the Apostles' Creed. Christ sits on a rainbow in the clouds with the Virgin Mary kneeling beside him. He judges the world during the Last Judgment. Around them are angels and the apostles. On earth, all the dead rise from their graves. They are led by angels to heaven (left) or by devils to hell (right). Above the depiction a reference to the Bible text in Matt. 24:30.
