About this work
Ceres with a sickle and ears of corn stands next to Mars, the god of war. Mars symbolizes the choleric, irritable temperament. At his feet lie weapons. Behind them plundering and arsonist soldiers. To the left Minerva. At the top left, center, and right the zodiac signs: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, which correspond to the element fire. Below the image a four-line poem in Latin. This print is part of an album.
