About this work
Elegant Petit-Maître in a light frock coat with brandebourgs, waistcoat of 'taffetas des Indes' trimmed with small steel buttons and a knee breech. The hair is curled. Pleated jabot and cuffs. Triangular cocked hat (tricorne) under the arm, decorative sword on the left side, fobs, shoes with square buckles. He stands in a frame, draped with ribbons. At the top eight buckles in the latest fashion; at the bottom some painted and embroidered waistcoats.
