About this work
Petit Maître dressed in a spotted habit with white revers over a short colored waistcoat and knee breeches. Spotted silk stockings. Accessories: hat, fobs, walking stick, shoes with buckles. Above the frame, a 'vischoura' (jacket) of satin trimmed with fur and a large muff of fur with two bows of spotted ribbon. Below the frame lie two painted and embroidered waistcoats and two men's hats. Print from the series mmm. 55th Cahier de Costumes Français, 49th Suite d'Habillements à la mode en 1787, Gallerie des Modes et Costumes Français.
