About this work
Standing man dressed in a 'habit à la polonaise', trimmed with gold galon(?). Vest of 'satin piqué' and breeches. On his head a 'chapeau à la Valague', with a turned-up brim at the back. Ruffled jabot and cuffs. Further accessories: neckerchief, walking stick, shoes with square buckles. Copy after T 110 from series T. 19e Cahier des Costumes Français, 13e Suite d'Habillemens à la mode depuis 1776, Gallerie des Modes et Costumes Français.
