About this work

Young bride being led to the altar by a man. She is dressed in a wedding dress of pekin, consisting of a dress, devant-de-gorge, skirt with paniers underneath, trimmed with tulle, ribbon and flowers. On her upswept hair a cap, decorated with jewels, feather and hanging flaps. Accessories: earrings, collier consisting of two strands with pendant in the shape of a bird, long gloves, bracelets, fan and shoes. The man wears a gold-colored habit and vest with gold embroidery, neckerchief, jabot and cuffs, breeches and stockings. Under his arm a hat. In his left hand a small bouquet. Shoes with buckles.
