According to the accompanying text, the woman is dressed in a 'Pierrot'. On her head a 'Bonnet en Pouf' adorned with a garland of roses and a wide green ribbon. 'Coëffure ordinaire' with two curls and a chignon. Fichu of 'gaze d'Italie'. Purple jacket (called caraco), trimmed with white, with a green ribbon bow in the front. Apple-green (under)skirt decorated with two white ribbons. Chinese shoes in the colour 'carmelite', decorated with white ribbon, 'à la Jeanette'. The print is part of the 3rd Cahier from Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 15 November 1785 - 1 November 1786.
