About this work

A woman and three children outdoors, eating sweets. The woman is dressed in a walking costume with a bustle; the boy wears a jacket with a bib and three-quarter trousers with buttons. He also wears a hat, a collar, stockings, and boots. The two girls wear a dress reaching over the knees with a jacket and a hat with bows. Below the image are several lines of advertising text for various products. Print from the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Demoiselles (1841-1902).
