About this work

Satirical print on C.A. van Raay, inspector or censor of the book trade, during the French administration in 1813. A man with a horse's head, sitting atop a printing press, is being pushed away by a Cossack with his lance. On the right, two printers stand by, whose shackles fall from their hands upon seeing this. Above the scene a four-line verse; below the scene a 16-line verse in two columns.
