About this work
Satirical print on C.A. van Raay, inspector or censor of the book trade, during the French administration that fell in 1813. A man with a horse's head, sitting on top of a printing press, is being knocked off by a Cossack with his lance. To the right, two printers stand by, and upon seeing this, the shackles fall from their hands. Above the image, a four-line verse; below the image, a 16-line verse in two columns.
