About this work
The personification of the Art of Writing sits with a book on her lap and points with a quill to a shield bearing the image of Father Time holding up a cloth, thereby revealing Naked Truth. To the right of the Art of Writing, a putto raises his club toward a devilish figure. In the sky, Fame blows a trumpet, holding a laurel wreath in her hand.
