Two actors, each depicted within a frame and under a poem, making it appear as if they are two poem strips, looking at each other. On the right, kabuki actor Nakamura Utaemon IV in the role of the boatman Matsuemon. On the left, Seki Sanjûrô III as the boatman Gonshirô.
