Men and horses in front of St. Peter's Basilica are erecting the Vatican Obelisk (in 1586) on St. Peter's Square. Bottom left: an explanatory list with numbers and letters and the portrait of Domenico Fontana, the architect who supervised the entire relocation and erection of the obelisk. Bottom right: numbered LIV.
