About this work

Samurai Endô Musha Moritô stands on the stone steps to the Jigan temple with the head of his beloved Kesa Gozen in his hands. Kesa Gozen was married to another man, and Edô Moritô decides to kill this man in his sleep. As a faithful wife, Kesa Gozen takes her husband's place, after which Edô Moritô, unaware of this, kills his beloved. The next morning, this becomes clear to him.
