About this work

Sheet with various depictions of the unrest caused by the Windhandel of 1720. In the center at the bottom, Quinquempoix: a crowd of victims of the windhandel gathered on the Dam near the Kalverstraat; above that, The Tuileries Palace: panic in the Parisian Tuileries. At the top, a portrait of John Law holding a note with Mississippi, accompanied by a monkey and a wolf biting a sheep. Top left, merchant shipping; top right, excavation work for the Utrecht canal. The caption contains a poem in seven columns.
