About this work
Two men are being led away on a donkey. One of the men pricks with his stabbing weapon into the bread held out to him. At the same time his hair is being cut. A second man hangs in a sack on the donkey, he screams and grabs his head. To the left the same two men are wrestling in front of a table where three men sit behind them who seem to be accusing them. Below the image a four by five-line verse in German. The print is probably an illustration of a seventeenth-century German proverb. (reprint of German pamphlet 1600)
