Hortus floridus in which the images of rare and less common flowers are most accurately delineated according to their true and living form

Latin edition of Crispijn de Passe's 'Hortus floridus', containing five parts. The first part includes a title print, two pages of text, a page with two laudatory poems on De Passe, and on the verso a list of the first 41 prints. This is followed by a print showing a garden in bird's-eye view, preceding the actual series of 53 prints, each with a description of the next print on the verso. The second part is titled 'Aestas horti floridi' and consists of a title page, a garden view, and twenty prints. As in the previous part, each print has a description of the next on the verso. The third part ('Autumnus horti floridi rariores autumni flores summa industria et labore') contains, besides the title page and garden view, a print titled 'Epigramma' preceding the series of 27 prints. The fourth part, 'Hortus floridus hyemalis', includes a title page, a garden view, and twelve prints with descriptions on the verso of the preceding print.
