About this work
The personification of the city of Dole, a kneeling woman holding the city arms, presents a wreath of ears of corn to Philip IV. Philip IV receives the wreath; he sits on a throne with a marshal's baton in his hand. Behind the city of Dole stands a man symbolizing the city's restoration after the siege. In the lower left is the coat of arms of the House of Habsburg, and on the right the motto of the city of Dole: Justitia et armis.
