About this work
Portrait of William IV in a circle with an inscription border. On the left and right are four circles depicting scenes of celebration in various places in the country. Below them are the arrival of William IV in The Hague on 29 April 1747, and the elevation of William IV to hereditary stadtholder in 1747. In the sky, Fame blows her trumpet. In the foreground are a coat of arms with a crown, Liberty, and the Dutch Maiden.
