Allegory on the elevation of William IV to stadtholder, 1747

Through a gate, a solemn gathering is visible at the Binnenhof. In the sky, an angel flies with a laurel wreath and a trumpet bearing the text: Vivat Oranye. Hanging before the gate, to the left and right of the portrait of William IV, are medallions depicting historical events stacked vertically. In the foreground, the coat of arms of Orange-Nassau is flanked by Minerva with a branch of orange apples and a veiled woman above whose head burns a small flame, a symbol of religious zeal.
