About this work
A Jewish high priest in conversation with an angel, with a burning flame on his head as a symbol of religious zeal. Next to them a crowned woman pointing with her scepter to the tables of the law. In the foreground putti holding sheets of paper on which the different names of the tribes of Israel are written. In the background the Israelite camp with the bronze serpent and Mount Sinai. In the frame of the cartouche medallions with biblical scenes.
