About this work

Map of the Seventeen Provinces. In the upper right the title cartouche with among others Minerva, Cybele, river gods and the Dutch maiden with a lion. In the upper left a cartouche with legend and information on the number of cities per province, above it Fama. Below it some figures, including possibly a self-portrait of Carel Allard pointing with a burin to the letter A. In the lower left a frame with two scales: 7 Milliaria Germanica communia / 8 Milliaria Gallica communia. The map is provided with a search grid and a degree division along the edges.
