Part of a frieze on the mantelpiece in the Aldermen's Council Chamber of the Town Hall on the Dam

Part of frieze on one of the two mantelpieces in the Burgomaster's Council Chamber of the Town Hall on the Dam in Amsterdam. On that frieze, of which this representation is part, the coat of arms of Amsterdam can be seen in the middle, which is crowned by two putti. On either side of it various putti, of which some are represented as a virtue. On this part left a part of a putto as personification of Justice (Justitia). In the middle a putto with a dog as allegory on Loyalty. Right a putto with fruits and grains. Bottom left numbered: 2. Bottom in the middle marked: P. See also RP-P-AO-22-2P-1.
